Doing something good through television - is that even possible? Yes, the producers at i&u TV thought, and promptly set up the big stern TV Christmas auction. Read the article to find out how the show with ReactionLink became a success.
Especially at Christmas time, the desire to do good is widespread. To make this possible within the framework of a television program, i&u TV engaged ReactionLink to master a task of a special kind. In an auction show, abandoned suitcases, vintage clothing and returns were to be auctioned off among the viewers. But instead of having only the studio audience bid on site as in previous years, ReactionLink made it possible to include viewers at home in front of their home screens.
To make this as easy as possible, i&u TV used the tried-and-tested QR codes that were repeatedly displayed during the broadcast. Viewers could scan them with their smartphones at home and were immediately on the specially created stern TV auction platform. Those who had verified their identity by text message and agreed to the auction conditions were then allowed to place bids.
The highest bidders were appointed one by one in the broadcast and could agree to an online interview live in the broadcast. Many a person was able to enjoy great surprises from suitcases and returns. Vintage clothing was also popular and quickly found joyful buyers. It became clear that the viewers were quite convinced by the concept and the packages to be auctioned off. In the end, the total of 26 suitcases went over the auction table for an average of about €750 each.
But the real highlight was the purpose of the show: All proceeds from the auctions will be donated to the project "Cafe Hier - Soul Care" of Johanniter Rhein-Ruhr for the benefit of Ukrainian youth. The auction platform alone thus raised a considerable amount of more than 20,000€. Those who did not win an auction could still donate any amount to the project if they wished. Through many willing donors from all over Germany, i&u TV was able to collect a sensational amount of more than 100.000€ donations in total.
